Office Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30p.m.

Sunday Morning Parking
When you arrive on Sunday morning, you may choose to park in one of three main lots. Two of these will be to your left and right as you enter at the front of the building. These lots fill up quickly so you may wish to arrive 15 minutes before the service starts to find a spot. The third parking lot is located behind the building and is convenient for parents with children – our Children’s Ministry volunteers will be there to help you find Sunday school classrooms and the nursery.

Handicap parking is located along both sides of the building.

On many special occasions (Christmas, Easter) parking lot attendants will help you navigate the lots, and shuttle buses will take you to and from satellite parking areas.

Worship Services
We have two main Sunday morning services, Worship Alive at 9:30 a.m. and Live at Eleven at 11:00 a.m. These two services take place in the main auditorium. The style of worship at the first service draws on elements from the vibrant history of traditional worship, including a balanced mix of hymns and choruses, and a variety of instruments – from organ to guitar. At Live at Eleven, a praise band and singers will lead you in contemporary singing. Each service is generally 60 minutes long and includes worship through song, prayer, and giving, as well as a teaching time. The first Sunday of the month, we celebrate the Lord’s Table together.

We also have a number of Sunday morning services and programs for children, youth, and seniors:

Worship Alive Kids (Sunday School, birth to grade 5) – 9:30 a.m. in various classrooms
Live at Eleven Kids (Kids Worship, grades K-5) – 11:00 a.m. in the downstairs LCS gym

Bitz (Youth Hang Time, grades 6-12) – 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall
Metamorphosis (Youth Worship, grades 6-12) – 11:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall

Big Groups (Adult Education) – 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in various rooms
The Gathering (55+ Fellowship) – 10:30 a.m. in room 144

Ushering and Touchpoint Ministry
Hosts at the auditorium doors will hand you a bulletin that outlines the order of service for the day. These men and women can also help you find a place to sit on one of our comfortably cushioned pews.

At the end of each service, a team of men and women wearing red lanyards are available for prayer or encouragement. These safe and caring individuals are part of our TouchPoint team.  You can meet them at the front of the auditorium, near the stage.

Dress

Our church family is large and its members are of a wide range of ages and backgrounds. The pastors and worship leaders usually dress in conservative ‘business casual’ attire on stage, but you’ll find people at Grant dressed in everything from blue jeans to business suits.

Welcome Centre
On your first visit, we invite you to stop by our Welcome Centre, located in room 155. From 9:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., our friendly volunteers will be there to answer your questions about Grant, and you can enjoy some coffee and refreshments.

Grant Central
Feeling lost? Stop at Grant Central, prominently located in the front foyer. Our volunteers will point you in the right direction. At Grant Central you’ll also find the Event Guide, a regularly updated guide to life in our community.

Comment Cards
Near the start of each service, Auditorium Hosts will pass out comment cards. If you’d like us to send you information on any of our ministry areas, fill out a card and drop it in the offering basket. There is also a place for your comments or prayer requests.

Technical
The technical volunteers create a support team that is committed to detail and excellence. Through sound, lighting, projection, and video they endeavour each week to create an environment that allows those in the congregation to worship free of distraction. If a volunteer is comfortable with computers and is interested in serving in any of these areas, we are committed to teaching them everything they need to know to serve effectively.

IN HER OWN WORDS ... Leah Wong, Volunteer Projectionist
In what area do you volunteer?
I am currently volunteering as a projectionist in the Technical Arts Ministry, which involves working with two computers, two projectors, a few tele-prompters, and three remotes. Remotes! Basically, the projection team and I work together to coordinate the lyrics to the songs. Our goal is to have a service where everyone can participate in worshiping the Lord…together!

What is your favourite thing about Grant Memorial?
It’s hard to say. I thoroughly enjoy the trees in the foyer. I also appreciate the handshakes from the morning greeters (even when it’s -40°C out), the amazing smell coming from the Global Ministries Luncheon, the organ, Pastor Tom’s ties, my very own mailbox … what it all boils down to is the small things that make Grant Memorial unique, and how they affect my memories and experiences as a person of faith.

What is your favourite thing about the people you serve with?
The best thing about serving is the incredible support system. We start off our weekend with a cup of coffee, prayer and anticipation, and end it off with high-fives, a few laughs, a sigh of relief that nothing broke down or crashed, and a feeling that the next weekend will be even better.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining this ministry?
Anyone who joins the tech ministry would get a  “YAY!” and a potential confetti throwing. It’s an exciting ministry to be a part of. Every weekend is special, with different challenges and opportunities. I’ve come to realize that you can’t fully rely on the wonders of technology, but you can always always ALWAYS rely on the wonders of God.
